This is the earliest Bearden document the site holds, written thirty-eight pages of argument before the dipole papers and in a completely different register: a fourteen-page Army technical report that tries to build one geometric idea and then spend it on four separate puzzles. The idea is that mass and the photon differ by an orientation rather than a substance — that a moving mass carries its own three-dimensional frame tilted at an angle to the observer's, that the tilt grows with velocity, and that at a right angle the intersection with the observer's space goes to zero. From there the report proposes a photon model, accounts for the relativistic increase of mass, offers a reason an orbiting electron does not radiate, and sketches what a device able to control the tilt would be able to do. It is the ancestor of the thread the corpus leans on hardest — energy and matter moved between places without travelling the distance between them — stated here in its first and most geometric form.
Dlaczego ma tu znaczenieChapter 10 teaches interference that acts at a distance and needs to show where that idea starts; this report is its origin, and it starts from geometry rather than from a device. It also gives Chapter 6 something the later energy papers do not: an explicit statement that the mechanism is meant to be cheap, because absorbing and emitting a photon is already the operation in question, which is the applicability question a reader will ask first.

01The report's construction is one geometric picture used four times. General relativity already treats mass as a curvature of space, and special relativity already says observed mass rises with observed speed; the report puts the two together by modelling the moving mass as carrying an ordinary three-dimensional frame tilted through an angle towards a fourth spatial direction orthogonal to the observer's three. The observed mass is then the intersection of the tilted frame with the observer's, and the relation recovered from the diagram is stated as consistent with special relativity. The bending of space and increase of mass with velocity, Figure 3
What to watch02The photon model follows from taking that tilt to a right angle. At ninety degrees the applied force has no component along the direction of motion, the intersection with the observer's space goes to zero, and what the observer records is a massless entity moving at the speed of light. The report's reading is symmetric and that is the point of it: to an observer in the tilted frame the photon is an ordinary mass and the original particles are the photons. It reaches the symmetry by stating a corollary to Einstein's second postulate — that every particle of mass is moving at the speed of light relative to every photon — and then treating the apparent contradiction as the thing the geometry is there to resolve.Einstein's second postulate, Figures 1, 2 and 5
What to watch03The stable-orbit result it builds on is textbook Bohr, and the report carries it accurately. An accelerating charge should radiate and the hydrogen atom should collapse in a very short time; it does not, and Bohr's condition is that the orbit contains a whole number of the electron's own de Broglie wavelengths, the ground state being one wavelength joined to itself in phase. The report cites Beiser for the numbers and Taylor and Wheeler for the observation that the connection between energy levels and radiation still wanted work.Attention can now be directed to the Bohr theory of the hydrogen atom, Figures 6 to 8
Settled physics04The proposed mechanism for the non-radiating orbit is a cancellation in time rather than in amplitude. De Broglie phase waves run faster than light, which the report reads as a negative time increment, while ordinary change runs slower than light and gives a positive one; when a mass moves at a speed synchronised with the constant speed of its own de Broglie waves — the condition the circular orbit enforces exactly, since the tangential speed never changes — the positive and negative increments are proposed to superpose and cancel, so the photon the classical theory demands stays virtual and is never emitted. The report is explicit that this is a hypothesis, and that classical electromagnetic theory carries no such positive-and-negative-time interaction to compare it against.Synchronized interaction of DeBroglie waves and a mass, Figure 9
What to watch05The applicability the report argues for is that the operation is not energetically expensive. Its case is that every mass already absorbs and emits photons routinely, and that on this model each of those events is already the ninety-degree reorientation in question — so atomic collisions, phonons and excitons are all named as routes that supply it. The report also notes that de Broglie waves are generated by macroscopic bodies as well as by particles, which is the step from a model of the atom to the possibility of a bench-scale demonstration, and it states its three hypotheses plainly as the things that would have to hold.Closing section, the three major hypotheses and the remark on macroscopic devices
What to watch06The unification argument underneath all of it is an appeal to a ratio. The report sets the classical radius of the macroscopic universe against that of the electron, and the electrostatic force between two electrons against the gravitational force between them, and reads the electrical field as a gravitational field closed at a far greater rate of bending — citing Feynman on the unified-field problem, Santilli on whether the electromagnetic field of a neutral body contributes to its gravitational field, and the author's own earlier reports on the boundary identity of exact opposites and on a restatement of the uncertainty principle.Opening section, the holographic-closure argument and references 1 to 4
