This is the Defense Department’s own account of what its archives contain. Congress required it, and the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office delivered Volume 1 in February 2024, covering 1945 to the end of October 2023 — classified and unclassified archives, open-source research, and about thirty interviews with people who said they knew of a hidden programme. Its headline finding is that no US Government investigation, academic study or official review panel has ever confirmed that a sighting represented extraterrestrial technology, and that it found no empirical evidence for the reverse-engineering claims: the programmes interviewees named turned out to be real, highly sensitive national-security work they had misread, a proposal that was never approved, or a programme disestablished for lack of merit. A metal sample from an alleged crash, put through materials characterisation, came back an ordinary manufactured alloy. The report is equally clear about its own limit — many cases remain unresolved, and the recurring obstacle is the quality of the data.
Why it matters hereChapter 1 needs the official baseline stated accurately rather than argued with, and this is it; the report’s own diagnosis — that whether a case can be resolved tracks directly with how much good data exists on it — is the strongest argument in print for the instrumented observation programme chapters 7 and 9 keep asking for.

What to watch03A sample from an alleged crashed off-world spacecraft, acquired by AARO from a private UAP investigating organisation and the US Army, is a manufactured terrestrial alloy composed primarily of magnesium, zinc and bismuth with trace elements including lead, and possesses no exceptional qualities.
