Gallerati, Modanese and Ummarino review experiments and theory on how gravity may interact with superconductors and other macroscopic quantum states. Their focus is whether coherent quantum macrosystems can locally alter the gravitational field around them. The question dates to the 1960s, when physicists first asked whether superconductors could serve as sensitive gravity probes. Podkletnov's weight anomaly experiments with large YBCO superconductor disks remain neither confirmed nor disproved, and settling them would need substantial research investment.
