Akito Takahashi reviews his theoretical model of deuteron cluster fusion in condensed matter. Deuterons briefly condense into clusters at focal points of the metal deuteride lattice, and his Electronic Quasi-Particle Screening Theory describes how attracted electrons screen them. Modelling the strong interaction by charged-pion exchange, he proposes multi-body resonance fusion, with tetrahedral fusion of 4 deuterons and octahedral fusion of 8 as major channels ending in helium-4. Tritium and helium-3 are minor products, and neutrons appear at less than 10^-10 of the helium rate. Slowing alpha particles give only low-energy X-rays hard to see outside the cell, so deuteron cluster fusion in condensed matter is clean and almost radiation-free.
