F. E. Gordon and H. J. Whitehouse report that Lattice Energy Converter devices self-start and sustain a voltage and current through an external load without naturally radioactive materials. Independent researchers have replicated these results. A video shows a voltmeter and resistance box are enough to measure the output, several hundred nanowatts per square centimetre of electrode in that test. Typical power densities are a few microwatts per square centimetre, so output must rise by 6 orders of magnitude for a few watts and 9 for a few kilowatts. They identify five focus areas for scaling up and conclude that the required 6 to 9 orders of magnitude may be reachable.
