Benyo and colleagues report gas cycling experiments in which cycling deuterium through a palladium-silver tube produced anomalous behaviour. They suspected palladium fission driven by high energy neutrons from lattice confinement fusion. In bremsstrahlung irradiation experiments, neutron spectroscopy showed evidence of deuterium fusion and higher energy neutrons, while gamma spectroscopy showed evidence of uranium fission products. Electrolytic wet cell experiments gave evidence of deuterium fusion and higher energy neutrons, together with transmutation products observed on the outer co-deposition layer. The talk sets out candidate explanations for the transmutations: electron screened fusion, possible fission pairs, and hybrid fusion fission.
